Couponing 101

What?! I just got paid to shop!

I absolutely love to save money when I grocery shop. I love it so much that it has become a game to see how much I can save. Now the big key to that saving is leaving my husband at home! I love him dearly, but he always wants to buy things that aren’t on my list! I work on that list to maximize my savings, keeping a focus on dietary restrictions, and household needs! When he puts things in the cart that weren’t planned, I always feel defeated when the cashier tells me the final price. That is until I subtract all that my husband had added to the grocery basket! Then I’m back into my winning mood because I stayed in the budgetary confines that I gave myself! So moral of the story, don’t bring the husband with you. If he’s willing to watch the kids, even better! Then your razor sharp focus can be on maximizing the savings!

Now I’m a list person, and I even color code my lists (and coupons) based upon which store the deal is at. This helps me to stay focused and organize my coupons so I don’t grab the Kroger stack when I’m heading to Meijer or Wal-Mart.  Speaking of Wal-Mart, here are few of the Wal-Mart deals happening this week.

Wal-Mart

  • Wal-Mart has Bounty dryer sheets 34 count at a new rollback price of $1.97. There is a beautiful coupon here for $1 off a box of Bounty dryer sheets 34 count or higher! Add the Checkout 51 app rebate of $1 off a box of Bounty dryer sheets, not trial sized and these dryer sheets become a moneymaker of 3 cents!
    • Use $1 off Bounty dryer sheets 34 count or higher and pay $0.97 out of pocket
    • Use the Checkout 51 rebate for a grand total of -$0.03. That’s right, you just got paid to shop! Now is the time to channel your inner Michael Jackson and moon walk through that register!

  • Ok, can I let you in on a little secret? I love the Reddi-Whip whipped cream! I know, I know, it’s not the best thing for me. But it tastes amazing and adds the extra oomph that so many recipes need! Anyways, Wal-Mart has the 13 oz. cans for their normal price of $3.48. But Ibotta has a $0.50 rebate on the 13 oz. side of the original and extra creamy varieties! (Mmmm, extra creamy my cherry pie is in heaven now)! To top these savings off, MobiSave has an additional $1 off of the 13 oz. size. Making this grand total $1.98! That’s not a bad price for some delicious whipped cream. I think my coffee could use a dollop!
  • Hefty Slider bags for a total of $0.53 when you buy four!!! How does this amazing deal work? I’m so glad you asked, because it is simply beautiful! Wal-Mart has these at $1.28/ box this week. Not a bad deal, but we can do better!
  • We all have to brush our teeth every day! How about scoring that toothpaste for $0.72/ tube? Wal-Mart has the Colgate Enamel Health toothpaste for every day low price of $2.47. Wait one minute, how do we go from $2.47 for a tube of toothpaste to $0.72? I’m so glad you asked!

All right, keep a look out for more savings. I will post more through the next few days and you won’t want to miss these savings.
